We chose Honfleur as a basic place and slept there for two nights. Mercure (booking.com) hotel has an excellent parking, which is important in the summer if you travel by car.
There is only one attraction in Honfleur - the Old Harbour (Vieux bassin), but it is really amaizing place. As we have said, the best time to visit it and feel the real France is morning or evening. See for yourself.
Near the harbor there is a Ferris wheel. From above, in addition to the town, Normandy Bridge is seen.
The city also has few old quarters with half-timbered architecture. They are all located around the harbor.
Another place worth visiting is the park near the mouth of the Seine (Le jardin des personnalités). A picturesque promenade along the canal Morel leads there.
Le Havre, the largest container port in France.
The town beach is in the end of the promenade.
Getting there: there is no railway station and no direct buses from the nearest major city of Rouen. On the train go to Deauville-Trouville or Le Havre (http://www.voyages-sncf.com) then by bus 20 or 50 (http://www.busverts.fr).
