During our visit we saw only the main sights of Sweden. Many interesting towns and attractions are located within a few hours from Stockholm, which is quite convenient. Therefore, as an option you can live in the capital and travel around the country for a week.

Some movies that are associated with Sweden: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) - Screen version of the first book of the trilogy "Millennium" by Stieg Larsson about journalist Mikael Blomkvist and the hacker girl Lisbeth Salander. Actually, this is the most famous Swedish book. There are two screen versions, Swedish (2009) and American (2011).
The Bridge (2011) - Modern Danish-Swedish detective TV show, events of which are associated with the Øresund Bridge that connects the two countries.
Fanny and Alexander (1982) - One of the top movies of the famous director Ingmar Bergman, which won four "Oscar" awards. In general, most of his movies were filmed in Sweden.
Let the Right One In (2008) - Quite famous Swedish fantasy about a 12-year-old boy who develops a friendship with a vampire girl. The action takes place in Stockholm.
The American (2010) - Drama with George Clooney; the beginning of the movie and some of the scenes were filmed in Sweden.
Melancholia (2011) - Lars von Trier's drama with Kirsten Dunst. The movie was shot in many places in Sweden, especially near the Tjolöholm Castle.
Play (2011) - Swedish crime drama about the black teenagers, based on real events. The movie was shot in Gothenburg.
Beyond the Border (2011) - Swedish war movie that shows a lot of beautiful scenery. |
