Port Egas (Puerto Egas) is one of the best places on the island to observe the different animals. The place is named after Hector Egas, an entrepreneur who mined salt here. There is a salt lake near this place where salt was mined since 1928. A small settlement was built at the site and this greatly upset the local ecosystem. Fortunately, the price of salt has fallen and mine was closed.Who lives here :

Fernandina island features iguana city and here probably is iguana village. In the evening they just relax under the sun.
