Ölüdeniz

We noticed Oludeniz in the photos of Turkey long time ago. It is famous for a beautiful beach, called Blue Lagoon.


The place is really beautiful, the beach is located on a long sandy spit. If you want to take such a photo, you can do it from the famous Lycian trail, which starts from Oludeniz. We took photos from here 36.549866, 29.132393, the car is parked here 36.558471, 29.138661, the entrance to the trail is 36.558026, 29.138834, next 15 minutes on foot.


Since we flew to Dalaman, we had to choose a place to stay during our vacation. We chose between Fethiye and Oludeniz and decided to stay in Fethiye, due to a lot of nice playgrounds for kids. And Oludeniz we visited few times by car, it is only 15 minutes away. Without kids we would definitely stay in Ölüdeniz.

If you travel by car and go to the beach, park on the very spit, here 36.550018, 29.116542, then walk additional 500 meters. At the tip of the spit almost everything is filled with sun beds, which is sad.


The main advantage of this place in the absence of waves, what is important if you have small children.


If you do not want to pay for a sun beds, there are several public places. And the water near the city promenade is exactly the same as the water on the spit, we bathed there as well.


This may be a good idea, since the distance from the promenade to the tip of the spit is about 1200 meters.


The promenade is small, but fabulous at sunset. The paragriders are landing several times a minute and giving it a special flair.






The first line is filled with restaurants, we have come here several times for dinner. It is quite unusual to sit in the restaurant and watch the flying paragliders 10 meters away.


Beaches and restaurants are not the only entertainment in Oludeniz. In 2021 opened a cable car to the mountain Babadag. It is also possible to visit different places on tourist yachts, such as the island of St. Nicholas.
