Edessa (not to be confused with Odesa in Ukraine and Edessa in Turkey) is an ordinary provincial town, unknown outside of Greece. But there you can find an interesting park which is worth a visit.

Imagine an ordinary city park, but with waterfalls, really big waterfalls. The largest of them - Karanos, has a total height of 70 meters!

The place is unusual because waterfalls appeared here by chance. The river changed its course as a result of a strong earthquake that occurred in the Middle Ages. Until 1942 waterfalls were inaccessible due to impassable territory. But during the German occupation the territory was developed, appeared bridges and walking trails. And in the 60s the city itself was completely restored.
