A small spa town on the shores of Lake Constance, founded in 1268. It developed actively due to its status as a free imperial town, but after the Thirty Years' War the development slowed down and the town turned into a resort.
We visited the city park (Stadtgarten) and took a walk on the promenade. The park, founded in 1875, is an important botanical attraction on Lake Constance. It owes its existence to the city's desire to have an attractive park for tourists, whose numbers increased during the 19th century. The first plants came from the island of Mainau, where was the Great Ducal Park since 1855.
The park is divided into two parts: the upper part (Oberer Stadtgarten) and the lower part (Unterer Stadtgarten), in the photos you can see the difference in height between the parts of the park.

After the garden, we walked along the promenade. It is quite long and we could hardly walk the whole way.
