It is not so easy to drive close to this location by car, as there are pedestrian zones everywhere. We parked near the Hermannshöhe Erlebniscafe restaurant (N 53 59.221 E 10 52.423), parking there is paid. And then we went for a walk to the left, reached the house on a cliff.
The fields that you see on the right belong to local farmers; they rent them from the city of Lübeck. Until 2013, there were many problems with free access. After that new rental contracts were signed and now tourists have easy access to the reserve. Together with the fields, the area is called Brodtener Winkel.
High shores formed in the last ice age (110,000 - 20,000 years BC). They were located between the two arms of a huge glacier.
Huge chunks of land fall down, sometimes with trees. Especially severe damage occurs during the winter months. Each year, high shores are reduced by 50 centimeters.
I wonder how many years has this house before it will fall off a cliff? Now it is a youth center that can be rented for any educational events.
