We spent the night and stayed at the Logis Hôtel Le Belvédère (booking.com). There are several other inexpensive hotels with parking nearby. The location is highly recommended as it is picturesque and offers a great view of Rocamadour.
As you can see in the previous photo, the town is located on three levels, the richer you are, the higher you lived. To go up and down you can user the funicular (N 44 48.049 E 1 36.966) and lift.
From the hotel we walked around the town. Actually you have two ways: on the rocks above the town or along the only street down below.
Rocamadour stands on a 150-meter cliff above the Alzou river valley.
Rocks on the other side. They offer the best view of the city, so we will come here again.
At the highest point, there is a castle built to protect the sanctuaries. You can climb the walls, the entrance is automatic, so take some coins with you.
The main sanctuaries are located right below the castle. According to legend, in 1166, at the funeral of a local resident, the incorrupt body of Saint Amadour, who was close to Christ, was discovered. He became a local saint.

Night view from the hotel.
Getting there: parking N 44 48.009 E 1 36.974. The nearest railway station is Rocamadour-Padirac in 4.5 km. You can walk along country roads or call a taxi by phone. If you do not speak French, then ask to call at the hotel opposite the station.
