Las Tintoreras (Isabela Island)

Our rating: 6.80
2014-04-19

The islet Las Tintoreras is located south of Puerto Villamil, it has eco-trail.

Who lives here:
 - sharks, saw a dozen
 - seals, saw few
 - small marine iguanas, saw many
 - rays, not seen
 - marine turtles, not seen

The most interesting place is a long tunnel with water. During high tide sharks and other marine inhabitants swim inside and during low tide can not swim back and therefore wait for the high tide. At that moment visitors can observe them.

There are also a lot of small marine iguanas. Tintonteras is one of the few places where there is no one who would threaten young iguanas.
