A small historical village founded in 1414. It was the capital of the island from 1425 to 1847. Among tourists it is known as the place of the Sunday market.
The village has a small but full-fledged historical center. Many buildings from the sixteenth to nineteenth centuries have been preserved, all in excellent condition. Teguise is also home to the main church on the island, the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, built in the early 16th century.
