The lake of St. Anne is the only crater lake in Romania. Located in the crater of the Chumetul Mare volcano at an altitude of 946 meters. According to one version, the last eruption caused a volcanic winter and the subsequent extinction of Neanderthals. Around the lake there is a decreased concentration of oxygen, so animals do not live here .
We walked around the lake and bathed in it, in summer it's possible. The place is quite popular.
