Find the hotel in Miraflores, as it is the most beautiful, well maintained and safe district. Previously, it was a separate town built by the Spaniards. In the early 20th century Lima has grown and swallowed Miraflores.
The city authorities turned the coastal areas into the park and the work continues today. Previously, the entire coast looked empty and lifeless.
Lima, by the way, stands on the high banks and therefore not afraid of tsunami.
Parks of Miraflores are located high above the ocean.

Love Park is similar to Gaudi Park in Barcelona. Its author, a well-known Peruvian painter and sculptor Victor Delfin, inspired by the works of Gaudi. Sculpture "The Kiss" (El Beso) depicts him and his wife. By the way, we spent the night in his own house!
You can start your walk around Miraflores from the shopping center Larcomar. Move along the coast to the north.
A long avenue with bike path
New green cover of the hills looks very nice.
If you go deeply into the district of Miraflores, you can find a lot of small parks that belong to the individual residential complexes.
Strolling through the Miraflores it's hard to believe that the city is unsafe. But if you move a little further from the shore, the houses will look like this.
Cat lovers have to visit Central Park and the adjacent Roosevelt park. We've seen there about 50 cats!
Tourists take pictures of them, but cats just do not pay attention. They can be rolled on the floor and they do not care.
These tourists brought food
If you walk from Larcomar to south, then you'll come to Barranco, we spent the night there too. It is believed that this is an area of local artists, writers and hipsters. Here is a lot of colonial architecture, but unfortunately here not as safe as in Miraflores. Take a walk around the Municipal Park (Parque Municipal) and the Bridge of Sighs (Puente De Los Suspiros).
Miraflores and Barranco are located near the ocean, but Lima also has a historical center.
It is located around the central square Plaza de Armas (Plaza Mayor). If you come there at 12, you can see the changing of the guard near the palace of the government, but only from behind the fence.
Behind the monastery of San Francisco find a beautiful Murillo park. It was built around the excavation of old houses of Lima. A good example of preservation of history.
Curious that immediately after the park and a stone's throw from the historic center located the slums. If you really want to see the slums then visit a viewpoint on a mountain of San Cristobal. Although not every taxi driver is ready to go there.
In addition to these places you can also visit the evening fountain show in Reserva Park (we did not visit).
Getting there: in the international airport of Lima it is better to take Green Taxi at the exit of the terminal ($17- $20 to the city).
