The Skadar Lake is the largest lake in the Balkans, most of it belongs to Montenegro, and the smaller part belongs to Albania . In the Middle Ages there were trade routes on the lake and it played an important role in the economy. Nowdays here is a national park, large medieval cities turned into small villages and the main occupation of the inhabitants is fishing and tourists.

Getting there: Unfortunately, if you have no car and don't live in Bar , then the best option will be an organized tour. But in this case you'll be in a boat with 40 other people, and it will be harder to feel the beauty of the place. Taxi from Budva costs about 30-40 euros, from Petrovac 25 euros. There are no direct buses from Budva, only from Bar. You can go to Sutomore and then change to the bus from Bar to Niksic or Pljevlja.
