If you are traveling by car, parked in Kyllini and waiting for a ferry to the islands of Zakynthos or Kefalonia, it's a good idea to visit Kastro castle (Chlemoutsi), which is located very close.

The castle is in excellent condition, although it was built by the crusaders (Franks) in 1220. At that moment they ruled the territory of Greece and called themselves the principality of Morea. The castle stands on a hill and offers excellent views of the sea and the nearest islands. The entrance ticket 4 euros, closed on Monday.

Given that the architecture of the castle looks holistic, it is obvious that it has not changed much since the time of construction. That is why it is considered one of the most important Greek castles.
