Winterberg

Winterberg or Winter Mountain is a popular ski resort, although there is plenty to do during other seasons. We came to the Adventure Mountain Kappe (Erlebnisberg Kappe) in April, when there was no more snow and little of tourists, find information and map of this place here https://www.erlebnisbergkappe.de/en/. We sat there in a very cozy restaurant with a children's corner Panorama Restaurant & Café, took a ride on a rodelbahn, played on children's playgrounds, there are several of them there.


And, of course, we walked along the panoramic bridge. By the way, these and other attractions were free of charge for us, since the hotel gave us some local discount card as a gift. We stayed at Dorint Resort Winterberg (booking.com).




The bridge has different attractions for teens.














Winterberg is home to the famous luge and bobsleigh track and regularly hosts some of the world's biggest competitions, such as the World Luge Championships (most recently in 2019) and the Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Championships (most recently in 2024).

Getting there: there are plenty of parking lots, out of season we parked right near the main attractions 51.183806, 8.505389. There is a train station Winterberg, 3 km on foot from the Kappe Adventure Mountain.
