The park in Duisburg was opened in 1994. Initially, the plant had to be demolished, but local activists defended the idea of creating a landscape and industrial park.
Entrance to the territory is free. It is not only a public space, but also a venue for various exhibitions, festivals and concerts. There is also a 13 meters deep swimming pool, in the former Gasometer, and a huge theater in the former power station.
The most interesting place in the park is blast furnace #5. It is constantly open to visitors and it is possible to climb the top by the iron stairs. There located an observation deck.
This blast furnace, like other objects, is beautifully highlighted at night on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and on holidays.
This place is a treasure for fans of unusual photos.
Getting there: By tram 903 or by buses 906/910 to the stop "Landschaftspark-Nord", then 10 minutes on foot.
