The defensive castle of Berlepsch was built in the 14th century right in the middle of the forest. Few times it was destroyed and rebuilt, and received it's current shape in 1880-90. The castle is interesting first of all for its romantic silhouette.

The entrance to the castle's territory is paid, but inexpensive. The area is small with cafe and a restaurant. Mostly, the castle is used for parties and weddings.

Opening hours: from 10 to 17. Excursions in the castle: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday - at 15, Saturday, Sunday and holidays - at 12, 14 and 16.

Getting there: parking coordinates N 51 23.739 E 9 49.972. Not possible to reach by public transport. The nearest railway station is Gertenbach and next 3.4 rm on foot or by bike.
