Alaverdi will be insteresting for many tourists because of its location. The fortress and monastery, built by the king of Kakheti Kvirike III the Great, is located in the middle of the Alazan valley. The cathedral that is located inside the walls is the third tallest in Georgia (after the Bagrat Temple and Tsminda Sameba in Tbilisi ).
