Toulouse, in general, is a fairly developed city. There is good transport here and the main factory of Airbus, so from the hotel window, we saw flying "belugas" almost every 10 minutes, they deliver aircraft components.
We spent the night at the hotel Ortus (booking.com), chose it due to the availability of parking and central location. The staff was not ok, maybe that's why the hotel recently changed its owner, during our visit it was called differently.
The wide river Garonne flows through the whole city. Judging by the height of the banks, floods are not uncommon here and protection is needed.
There are excellent embankments along the river, where we walked. The architecture of the city is especially beautiful in the morning and in the evening, as the houses are built of red stone.
City waterfalls
Among the civil buildings of the 16-17 centuries, there are modern residential quarters, even in the very center.
Toulouse is the second city in France after Paris in terms of the number of students. In the evenings, all embankments are filled with them.
Getting there: there is a large airport. Every 20 minutes shuttle buses run to the central train station and metro stations Jean Jaures and Jeanne D'Arc. With the same ticket, you can go further on other city buses. Cheaper but longer option with T2 tram to the nearest metro station Arenes.
