The main touristik attraction in Baños is a visit to the waterfalls (Ruta de las Cascadas). Numerous travel companies in Baños offers such tours. Also you can rent a scooter, quad, buggy or bicycle ($10 per day). In the case of a bike, you should be well prepared, because you will need to return uphill. There are bike tours, where you can return on a track from the waterfall Pailon del Diablo ("Devil's Cauldron", 18 km), which is the endpoint of most tourists. If you are individual tourists it is also possible to return on the track for a small fee.
Several waterfalls are located along the road between Baños and Puyo. Near the every waterfall you can see so-called canopy and something like hanging booths (or cabcel cars), on which you can drive up to the falls.
If you are traveling with a tour, then you will visit each waterfall and will have some time for canopy and cable cars. If you are traveling alone and see the bus near the waterfall, just wait a bit until the group leaves.
Since the weather in the mountains is often rainy, buy poncho and rubber boots ($10) at the stores in the center of Baños.
We visited all the main waterfalls. The first one is Cascada de Agoyan, it's pretty far away, but for a few dollars, you can ride closer on a cable car or on the canopy.
We used cable car also near the next waterfall Cascada El Manto de la Novia. Actually, we had planned to ride a canopy, but it was a light rain, so we decided not to do this.
The largest and most noisy waterfall is Pailon del Diablo ("Devil's Cauldron") near which grew up a little tourist town. There is no canopy here, but it still offers a lot impressions. Primarily because there is an opportunity to get close to the bottom of the waterfall. Here you poncho and rubber boots will be very helpful.
For most tourists this waterfall is the last on the route, but as we were going to the jungle, so visited another waterfall Machay, which is 10 kilometers from Pailon del Diablo. To see this waterfall you have to go down the stairs. The descent will be interesting, because of a huge number of beautiful flowers and plants like in the botanical garden.
