Vyshnivets Palace

N 49°53.924', E 25°44.267'
2015-06-29
Our rating: 7.80
Overall rating:
In Vyshnivets is located a well-preserved 18th-century palace, the former residence of Vyshnevetsky princes and later Mnishek princes.

Currently (July 2015) through the efforts of "Castles of Ternopil" and philanthropists, restoration is being held, though the palace is in excellent condition. It is interesting that a few years ago the territory in front of it was planted with trees and shrubs.

Considering that the palace will be used for conferences and international meetings, the new design is more appropriate.

Repairment is already finished in a few rooms and you can see a small exhibition. The most impressive is a large image of old Warsaw. Earlier the palace had a huge collection of paintings and works of art, but it was all taken out to museums and private collections all over the world.

The palace was built in 1730s on the site of the castle, which is well seen on the reconstruction.

Previously, the river was very close to the walls. Now it became shallow, but a large reservoir lake still exists.

It's banks offer beautiful views of the palace.
