We didn't know much about Kremenets. The only landmark we knew there was the castle ruins, although there was a lot of interesting buildings in the town itself as well.
The town is situated in a valley along the main Dubenska and Shevchenka streets. The railway and bus stations are located at one end of the town, while the castle is at another end. So better take a taxi upon arrival and then return on foot.
You can take a guide near the entrance to the ruins, but I'm not sure that they speak English. There is an excellent view of the town from the top.
We descended on foot along the forest path, it's faster. Then we walked back to the bus station through the town. It took us a long time, but we liked the walk and the town left a positive impression.
Getting there: By bus or minibus that runs every 30 minutes from Ternopil. Travel time is about one hour.
