Our rating: 8.40
Overall rating:

Burj Khalifa is the symbol of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates. The building with the height of 828 meters is the highest in the world and holds several world records:

 - the tallest building
 - the tallest structure in the world
 - maximum number of floors
 - the highest habitable floor
 - the highest observation deck
 - the highest lift
 - the highest technical lift

Inside the complex there are hotels, apartments, offices and shopping centers. During the construction in 2008 the building became the tallest one in the world, taking away this title from the TV tower KVLY-TV in North Dakota. The skyscraper must have become the tallest in the world, so the projected height of the building was kept secret. And if the competitors had started to build a higher structure, the height would have been increased.

Originally known as the Burj Dubai skyscraper, on the opening day the building was renamed in honor of the Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khalifa. During the crisis in 2008 the Sheikh allocated billions of dollars of financial aid and saved the Dubai World investment company from collapse.

Inside the building you can see photos and video of the construction history. Curiously, several times the upper floors were disassembled and rebuilt in another way after inspections of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed.

The observation deck is on the 124th floor. It is behind the glass, but there is an open part without glass. Opening hours: Monday - Wednesday from 10 am to 10 pm, Thursday from 8:30 am until midnight, and Friday - Saturday from 4:30 am until midnight. The tickets are here. It is best to arrive early in the morning or in the evening to see the sunset and night city.

We should say that the place is very popular and tickets for good hours (1 pm to 7 pm) are sold out a week in advance. So it makes sense to buy tickets in advance on the website here.

Getting there: Burj Khalifa Metro station. Then by a covered passage with a length of approximately 800 meters to the Dubai Mall. In Dubai Mall look for pointers to "At The Top", this is the place where you can buy tickets to the observation deck.
