There is a beautiful and large Buddhist temple in Dickwella. It is located close to the main beaches, so it's easy to get here. For us, the main interest was the huge statue of Buddha (over 50 meters). There are steps inside the statue so you can climb to the top. There, in a small room, a funny guy held a ritual over us and got $1. I hope his strange murmuring was positive :)
