From the bus station and the railway platform is about 2.5 kilometers to the castle. Houses mostly of wood, it is similar to Jurmala.
If you are walking along the lake, then go along the eastern side of the peninsula. You will see the remains of the second calste. Here is it's old picture.
The castle, which has been preserved and can be visited is visible in the background. This is the main Lithuanian castle, built in the XIV century. Located on the island, so it is no wonder that it has never been conquered.
Inside is a museum of the history of Trakai.
