Trakai is a small resort town located near Vilnius, surrounded by hundreds of picturesque lakes. An ideal place for hiking and cycling. Located on a long peninsula, similar to the famous Italian Sirmione. However, there are no crowds of tourists here and Trakai Castle is much more picturesque and interesting.

From the bus station and the railway platform is about 2.5 kilometers to the castle. Houses mostly of wood, it is similar to Jurmala.

The castle, which has been preserved and can be visited is visible in the background. This is the main Lithuanian castle, built in the XIV century. Located on the island, so it is no wonder that it has never been conquered.
