Cefalu consists of two main parts: the Old Town (red part) and long beach (orange part).
The most beautiful place in the old town and the landmark of Cefalu is the view of medieval houses from the pier. We came here because of this view.
Spent the entire evening on the pier as it is a very romantic place and a good location to watch the sunset.
A few pictures of old town.
The only remained town gate - Porta Marina.
View of the old town from the beach.
In the morning strolled along the promenade to Santa Lucia (see map). From a distance a large rock (Rocca) over the town is clearly visible.
You can climb on the rock (4 EUR), although the entrance does not work in the morning, so it's not possible to meet the sunrise from the top. Upstairs there are the ruins of the fortifications. To find the trail, look for signs to the Temple of Diana (Tempio di Diana).
Getting there: Cefalù has a railway station and a bus station close to each other in the center of the town. From Palermo we came by train (http://www.cp.pt).
