Plateau Alpe di Siusi

The plateau is located at heights from 1680 to 2350 meters. There are many hotels here and next time we will definitely stay for the night.


In the meantime, we did the following. In Ortisei took the cable car Telecabina Ortisei-Alpe di Siusi (https://www.funiviaortisei.eu/en/home). From the top station we walked 6 kilometers on a plateau to Compatsch. It is necessary to go in this direction in order to descend more than to rise. It’s difficult to get lost there, but it's worth having some kind of map on the phone.


The same route is suitable for bicycle, which is allowed to take on a cable car for 2 euros.






At Compatsch we sat in a cafe, ate ice cream. You can get here by bus 179 from Siusi (Seis, timetable), it will be the cheapest option, or by car. Further, on the plateau, vehicles are prohibited.


Then we went down to the town of Siusi by cable car Seis - Alpe di Siusi / Seiser Alm (https://www.seiseralm.it/de/info/mobilitaet/seiser-alm-bahn-sommer.html). Right next to the cable car, caught a 172 bus (timetable) and returned to Ortisei. Buy a ticket in the machine, the driver does not sell.
