Wolfswarte rock in the Harz Mountains

The Wolfswarte rock is located in the Harz mountain region at an altitude of over 900 meters and is a rock formation featuring a viewing platform. It is not an artificial tower, but a natural rock. From here, a panoramic view opens up over the Harz forests, which stretch to the horizon.

The name “Wolfswarte” literally means “wolf lookout.” The parking lot is located at 51.793889, 10.517694, but there are only 7–8 spaces. The trail is completely straight; it’s impossible to get lost, though in September half of the trail was wet because a stream runs along it. That’s why you need good hiking boots.
