It is curious that the upper and lower cities used to be different settlements, but in 1436 they merged into one. As a result of this, the city had 2 mayors. To solve this problem, they ruled in turns, each for half a year.
This went as long as 132 years, until a new town hall with two entrances was built on the border of two cities. It was called "City Hall between the cities" (Rathaus Zwischen den Städten).
The city has preserved medieval fortifications: walls and several towers.
