Nymphenburg Palace was built in 1664-1675 by order of Ferdinand Maria. At that time it was outside Munich, but now the palace is in the city. It was used as a summer residence of the rulers of Bavaria.
Around the palace is a park with an area of 200 hectares, where people of Munich like to spend time. You can walk around the palace and the park for free. It's possible to visit the interior with a tour. But you can see only part of the palace because of living areas inside. There are a lot of swans and ducks near the palace that wait for food from visitors.
