Bremen is known throughout the world for the Bremen Town Musicians. Monument to the Musicians of Bremen by sculptor Gerhard Marcks was established in 1951 in the downtown and is a symbol of the city. Bronze sculpture resresents the main characters: a donkey, a dog, a cat and a rooster standing on each other in the shape of a pyramid.
In the center is the Market Square, one of the most beautiful squares in Europe. The medieval city hall and Roland statue are included in the UNESCO World Heritage list.
One of the most famous streets in Bremen, Boetthershtrasse, is 100 meters long and consists of only seven XVI century houses. Inside them you can find three museums, a gallery and a theater. In the old city there is the Schnoor district with preserved old houses.
On the territory of the University of Bremen is the Universum Science Center. It is a museum of science, where every visitor can touch and try out 250 exhibits.
In the center of Bremen (behind the railway station) is the City Park (Bürgerpark) with a small zoo where pigs, ducks, alpacas, and guinea pigs are kept. There is a beautiful hotel in the park, which looka like a palace.
Bremen is located in the smallest land of Germany with the same name. The land consists of only 2 cities: Bremen and Bremerhaven. The city is the largest exporter of beer in Germany.
