On the south of France, not far from Marseilles, there is a small part of the coast called Cote Bleue (Blue coast). It has several villages and a dozen beaches. A railway from Marseilles passes along the coast. From July 1 to September 30 there are 1-day tickets "Pass Bermuda" for 6 euros (2017). In August there are daily tickets for two "Ligne de la Côte Bleue" for 10 euros (2017).

We visited one of the beaches - Verdon, it is located in the village of La Couronne. The rest here is cheaper then on Cote d'Azur. It is convenient to come with children, the beach is big and shallow, located in a bay and therefore water is warm. Other beaches on the coast are more open to wind and waves.

After bathing we strolled along the shore to the lighthouse on the Cape Couronne.
