It is located right in the middle of the forest. The route is circular, as in other similar zoos, at first you will see birds and small animals, then you will go to predators and bears.
The animal enclosures in the zoo are quite large and arranged in such a way that you walk on the top of a fence.
Lynxes have recently bred well in the Finnish wildlife.
Though the wolverines are almost gone.
The main stars of the zoo are polar bears. In 2012, the zoo became one of the few in the world where bears breed. Since then, several cubs have already been born.
In 2016, the bear cub Sisu was born. As it usually happens, there was a cotest for the name with 18,000 proposals. We were very lucky and we were able to see how he plays with the ball. Spent there at least an hour, it's really interesting.
In the near future, Sisu will be transferred to another zoo, as happened with the Ranzo bear, who now lives in the Vienna Zoo.
