But, we still planned a visit to the deer park. You can order various activities there, such as Reindeer Safari, Chasing Northern lights on snowshoes, Husky safari and others, check the official website for more details. The park is especially popular in winter, though we arrived in the middle of summer and were alone there.
The woman who sold us the tickets gave a map and explained where the deer might be. The fact is that the park is a large fenced piece of forest, so it’s not so easy to navigate there.
The first deer we found immediately near the gate.
Then we went along the 5 km long path.
Along the way, various old animal traps are installed. This one is for the bear.
Fox trap, pretty scary, a fox jumps and gets stuck.
For badger and raccoon
Wolf trap: inside is a labyrinth and wolf cannot find a way out.
Next we came to the houses and Wig Wam.
There was a barn with a food for deer. Despite the fact that we did not see the deer here, we decided to take an armful of branches, just in case. Then we found a deer track and followed it. After 200 meters, we came across an unusual wooden construction.
At first we did not understand what is that, but when we came closer, we were even scared. All the deer were inside! It seems that there were about 50 of them. Moreover, the largest ones somehow dangerously directed horns at us.
When we returned to the tourist center, we were told that the deer are friendly, and they kept the horns like that, because they didn’t fit in any other way.
Using branches with leaves, we lured several deer outside and fed them.
I must say, it was scary when a deer walks at you like that.
In general, the place is very beautiful and nice, we recommend.
