There are several beaches in the vicinity of Puerto Ayora on the island of Santa Cruz. The most famous is Tortuga Bay with sea lions, which is located near the city. But we went to a distant beach El Garrapatero.

Who lives here:
 - flamingos, saw few
 - white-cheeked pintail ducks, saw few
 - finches, not seen
 - mockingbirds, not seen

Near the beach there is a small lagoon with ducks and flamingos. This is quite unusual. Camping is permitted at the site with prior authorization from the Public Use Unit. You can use the grill to light fires, you should take your own coal. There are special places that located under the natural canopy of the bushes, where you can hide from the sun. Do not forget mosquito repellant.
