Cyprus has several major resort towns and Paphos is one of them. It is attractive because of  its own airport. Paphos has no large-scale reconstructed waterfront like Larnaca or Limassol, but there's a great archaeological park in the downtown. You don't have to be an archeology fan to walk there, it's a gorgeous place, especially during sunrise and sunset. There's a walking path around the park near the sea. It is great for biking, jogging or just walking.

The park is divided into two parts. Entrance to the main one is on the waterfront near the fort. Be sure to visit a building in the middle of the park, where you can find unique mosaics of the III century. They were accidentally discovered by a local not long ago and now are the best in the Mediterranean. Come here in the evening and you won't regret. The second part of the park are Tombs of the Kings that can be reached by bus #615.

Paphos is chosen by those tourists who are looking for a relaxing stay. There's no such busy life here as in Larnaca or Limassol. We stayed at the Roman Hotel (booking.com).

Paphos has a perfect location for trips to the Akamas peninsula and to the Stones of Aphrodite. You can easily reach these places by bus.

Getting there: Paphos has its own international airport. The town can be reached from the airport by buses ##612 (schedule, map) and 613 (schedule, map). There's a bus connection between Paphos and Limassol (schedule, map) or Nicosia (schedule, map). Taxi from the Larnaca airport costs 100 euros.
