Pechera (Pechora) village is an example of decline due to infrastructure development. Previously, there was a regional road through the village, but the traffic stopped when another road was built. I was surprised to observe large abandoned buildings, such as a department store. But Pechera is worth visiting because of several interesting objects.
On the way from Nemyriv you will find an old water mill of Potocki. Local authorities plan to turn it into a recreation center.
Then go to the wooden Church of the Nativity of the Virgin (1764). The church itself is very picturesque, but be sure to go around it. From the top of the hill opens a nice view of the Pivdennyi Bug river and its rapids.
Next, move to the tomb (mausoleum) of Potocki - Sveykovski (1904), stylized as Roman architecture.
On one side there are steps to the basement and through the bars you can see some of the tombstones.
The path goes through the park to a horrible Soviet era building. This is a "newly built" regional hospital. And 100 years ago right on this place was a pretty pompous Potocki Palace. In the park you can find some sculptures.
Go around the building and look for an old staircase behind it. It leads down to the river. The stairs, though abandoned, look very picturesque. There's a lot of huge boulders around.
There is a forest trail along the river. And the river itself is full of large boulders (rapids). You can move to another bank by jumping from one boulder to another. Vacationers use the boulders for sunbathing and swim between them. The place is gorgeous and I think we'll come back here to have a rest on the river banks.

Getting there: It is difficult to get there by public transport. A minibus from Vinnytsia runs a couple times a day, and the schedule is not very convenient. We took a taxi in Nemyriv for 3 hours ($30).
